Our History

CREAP Africa Initiative was formed in October 2021 and incorporated in July 2024 under the Companies and Allied Matters Act, 2020 (As Amended) of the Corporate Affairs Commission as Community Rights Education Advancement Pathway Initiative. The core mandate of CREAP is to provide platforms, tools and resources that amplify marginalized voices and promote socio-economic progress through strategic collaboration and partnership with local and international institutions, partners, and communities.

Our work focuses on civic advocacy, research, and knowledge-sharing aimed at empowering marginalized communities and advancing social rights. CREAP thematic services, projects, and programs are designed to address critical social and environmental issues, thereby enhancing peaceful, accountable, safe, resilient, and sustainable communities.

CREAP drives her mandate through her thematic focus in environmental justice and climate action, agriculture and food systems, healthcare and equity, human rights and democratic governance, and community development and evidence-based research and advocacy in the underserved communities.
